אדווין בלאק (באנגלית: Edwin Black; ) הוא סופר, עיתונאי בעל טור יהודי אמריקאי. מפיק ומגיש תוכנית טלוויזיית אינטרנט שבועית - The Edwin Black Show[1]. כתב אחד עשר ספרים, שרובם הפכו לרבי מכר ותורגמו ל-14 שפות לפחות וכן מאות מאמרים, שפורסמו בחלק גדול מהעיתונים החשובים בארצות הברית ובמקומות נוספים בעולם. אחד הכותבים העיקריים באתר The Cutting Edge News.
קורות חיים
בלאק נולד בתחילת שנות החמישים בשיקגו, להורים יהודים פולנים, ניצולי השואה. אמו, את'ל כץ, הייתה ב-1943 בדרכה בקרון סגור למחנה ההשמדה טרבלינקה. בהיותה צנומה במיוחד הצליחה להימלט דרך צוהר קטן בקרון. הנאצים ירו על הבורחת והשאירוה קבורה בשלג, בחושבם שמתה. יהודי שהסתתר ביער הציל אותה אחרי שהרכבת נעלמה והשניים הסתתרו יחדיו ביערות פולין במשך שנתיים, עד לתום המלחמה. המציל הוא מי שיהיה בעתיד בעלה ואביו של בלאק, והשניים היגרו יחדיו לארצות הברית לאחר גמר מלחמת העולם השנייה[2].
בלאק חי תקופה מסוימת בקיבוץ בישראל. הוא נשוי, אב לבת, וגר בוושינגטון.
כתיבתו
הטור של בלאק מופיע כיום בכמאה עיתונים ומגזינים שונים ברחבי העולם. מאות מאמריו הופיעו בחלק גדול מהעיתונים החשובים בארצות הברית ובבריטניה, וכן התפרסמו בעיתונות ברחבי העולם, לרבות בג'רוזלם פוסט בישראל. בפרס הראשון שלו זכה עוד בשנות העשרים לחייו, בגין מאמר שכתב בעקבות ראיון שקיים ב-1978, עם פרקליט יהודי שייצג נאצים ותירץ בפני בלאק את ייצוגם, בטענות לחופש הדיבור והבעת הדעה.
ספרו הראשון, The Transfer Agreement: The Untold Story of the Secret Agreement Between the Third Reich and Jewish Palestine יצא לאור ב-1984 בהוצאת MacMillan Publishing Company, עורר סערה כלל עולמית ויהודית וזכה בפרס קרל סנדברג. הספר עסק בהסכם העברה - ההסכם שנחתם באמצע 1933 בין הסוכנות היהודית לבין שלטונות גרמניה הנאצית. ההסכם איפשר לכחמישים אלף מיהודי גרמניה לצאת ממנה, יחד עם חלק מרכושם, בשווי כמאה מיליון דולר של אז (מעל למיליארד וחצי דולר של היום) ותמורת זה בוטל החרם שארגנו יהודי העולם נגד המשטר הנאצי בשנתו הראשונה[3][4].
ספרו השני של בלאק, Project C, ספר מתח מדע בדיוני יצא לאור כעבור חמש עשרה שנה בהוצאת Dialog, ותורגם לכמה שפות, בהן עברית[5]. לאחר ספר זה החלו ספרי בלאק להתפרסם לעיתים קרובות יותר, ומדי שנה-שנתיים יצא לאור ספר חדש שלו. כמעט כול ספריו עוררו סערה ומחלוקת וכמעט כולם הפכו רבי מכר.
ב-2001 יצא לאור בהוצאת Crown ספרו השלישי של בלאק, IBM and the Holocaust: The Strategic Alliance between Nazi Germany and America's Most Powerful Corporation. גם ספר זה עורר סערה, בשל טענתו של בלאק, בדבר "ברית אסטרטגית" שכרת מנכ"ל IBM דאז תומאס ווטסון עם גרמניה הנאצית ושיתוף הפעולה עמה מצדן של חברות בת של IBM[6][7]. הספר היה לאחד מרבי המכר של ה"ניו יורק טיימס" .
ספרו האחרון עד כה, Financing the Flames: How Tax-Exempt and Public Money Fuel a Culture of Confrontation and Terror in Israel, שיצא לאור ב-2013, הוא תחקיר של מימון פעולותיהם של ארגוני זכויות אדם שונים, ובראשם הקרן החדשה לישראל. הוא חושף בספרו את מקורות המימון של הקמפיינים השונים לדה-לגיטימציה של ישראל, ובהם החרם הכלכלי, תנועת ה-BDS והלוחמה המשפטית נגד צה"ל, ובין היתר כותב כי כספי תרומות של אזרחים אמריקאים מגיעים, במקום לפעילויות חברתיות והומניטריות לגיטימיות, לפעילויות פוליטיות נגד מדינת ישראל. לדבריו, "לעולם לא יהיה שלום אם לא נעצור את זרם הכספים של הקרן החדשה לישראל, לארגונים פוליטיים שחרתו על דגלם לפעול כנגד מדינת ישראל... אנשים בשני הצדדים, ישראלים ופלסטינים, רוצים לחיות בדו קיום. אבל זה לא יכול לקרות כשכספי תרומות אמריקנים מממנים את הלהבות של השנאה בין הצדדים"[8].
בלאק פועל לשינוי החקיקה האמריקנית ולהתאמתה לכך, שלא ניתן יהיה להסתיר עוד את הפעילות הנעשית בכספים הפטורים ממסים ומשמשים למימון מלחמה נגד מדינה ידידה. הוא השיק את ספרו בקונגרס האמריקאי, בפרלמנט האירופי ובפרלמנט הבריטי, בסוף 2013, ובכנסת, בכינוס שאורגן על ידי חבר הכנסת רוברט אילטוב, ב-19 בפברואר 2014, בהשתתפותם של סגן שר החוץ זאב אלקין, וחברי הכנסת יוני שטבון, חיליק בר ופנינה תמנו שטה[8].
