קתרין מלאבו (בצרפתית: Catherine Malabou; נולדה ב-1959) הוא פילוסופית צרפתייה, פרופסור במחלקה לפילוסופיה במרכז למחקר פילוסופיה אירופית מודרנית (CRMEP) באוניברסיטת קינגסטון (Kingston University), בבית האירופאי לתארים מתקדמים ובמחלקה לספרות השוואתית באוניברסיטת קליפורניה באירוויין (תפקיד שבעבר מילא ז'אק דרידה).

ביוגרפיה

מלאבו נולדה בסידי בל-עבאס, שבאלג'יריה, בזמן הכיבוש הצרפתי. בבגרותה סיימה את לימודיה באקול נורמל סופרייר במדעי הרוח ( פונטנה - Saint-Cloud ). האגרגציה והדוקטורט שלה נכתבו בהנחיית ז'אק דרידה, בבית הספר ללימודים גבוהים במדעי החברה. עבודת הדוקטורט שלה "L'Avenir de Hegel: Plasticité, Temporalité, Dialectique" (בתרגום חופשי: "העתיד של הגל: פלסטיות, זמניות, דיאלקטיקה") שלה התפרסמה כספר בשנת 1996.

מחקרה

המושג המרכזי בהגותה של מלאבו הוא "פלסטיות", שאותו היא שואבת מהגותו של הגל, וממדעי הרפואה, למשל, מהמחקר אודות תאי גזע והפלסטיות של מערכת העצבים. מלאבו פיתחה הבחנה בין "פלסטיות ל"אלסטיות", וטענה שבעוד ש"פלסטיות" מכירה בשליליות כהכרחית לכל יצירה, האלסטיות לעומת זאת מכחישה את השליליות, וכל מהותה היא התאמה (אדפטיביות) לסביבה החיצונית. כיוון שכך, האלסטיות לדידה היא אחד הכלים האידאולוגיים והפרקטיים העיקריים בשירות הקפיטליזם.

בשנת 1999 חיברה מלאבו יחד עם דרידה את הספר "Voyager avec Jacques Derrida – La Contre-allée". ספרה, Les nouveaux blessés (2007), נוגע לצומת בין מדעי המוח, פסיכואנליזה ופילוסופיה, בחקר הטראומה הנפשית.

במקביל לחקר מדעי המוח מלאבו עוסקת בפילוסופיה פוליטית. העיסוק ניכר לראשונה בספרה מה עלינו לעשות עם מוחנו? והעמיק ב Les nouveaux blessés, כמו גם בספרה על פמיניזם ( Changer de différence, le féminin et la question philosophique, Galilée, 2009), ובספרה על חסרי בית ומצב חירום חברתי ( La grande exclusion, Bayard) . בשנת 2010 פרסמה ספר יחד עם ג'ודית באטלר בשם "Sois mon corps".

מלאבו כותבת יחד עם אדריאן ג'ונסטון (Adrian Johnston) ספר על רִיגְשות אצל דקארט, שפינוזה ובמדעי המוח. ועובדת על ספר חדש על המשמעות הפוליטית של החיים לאור התגליות הביולוגיות האחרונות (בעיקר אפיגנטיקה). העבודה האחרונה תדון במושג ה"חיים החשופים" של ג'ורג'יו אגמבן ובמושג ה"ביו-כוח" מישל פוקו, הדגשת היעדר ההגדרות הביולוגיות המדעיות של מונחים אלה, והמשמעות הפוליטית של היעדר כזה.
